Comunidad Cristiana Peņitas/ Peņitas Christian Community
Comunidad Cristiana Peñitas has finally gone public. Worship services are being conducted outdoors in the community
center park. Peñitas is located more than 10 miles away from the nearest evangelical community of faith. We have been
praying over the area for close to a year now and this past summer we were able to complete some initial survey work
and identify various homes who have an interest in hosting a home bible study and several more families have expressed
an interest in studying the bible.
We have also been offering GED preprartion courses online in English and Spanish through the community center located
in Peñitas. Also during the months of June and July we helped weekly with a day camp held for the kids at the Peñitas
Community Center and we also had a group from Oak Hill Community Church come and help put on a VBS for an entire
week at the Community Center in the month of July.
Please be in prayer for us as we develop this new work. The needs we have identified thus far in which you
may pray for us and/or help meet are the following:
1- Prayer-walking teams of 3-4 people all year round- Focus on Peñitas, Green Ranch & Deer Creek areas
2- Gospel Saturation teams must bring own literature (i.e. Steps to Peace with God - Billy Graham Evangelistic
Association-bilingual), bibles, New Testaments, etc...
3- Community Block Party ministry team during Christmas break, Spring Break or any weekend in late fall or early spring
4- Video projector with portable screen
5- Laptop w/wireless connectivity and MS Office Pro 2007
6- Funds to purchase GED preparation booklets for GED students. Currently 15 enrolled for fall and each set of books
cost approximately $15 each including shipping.
7- 3 VBS groups for summer 2010-Penitas, Green Ranch & Deer Creek communities.
8 - two or three six foot long (lifetime) folding tables to be used with the youth and children's ministry areas.
